Award winning Hawaiian musician Faith Ako is set to release her fourth album in March 2020. An arrangement of Hawaiian melodies, her sultry voice whisks you to the islands with original songs and Hawaiian classics. Recording this album in Honolulu was a treat in itself and so rewarding for the Oahu native. Two songs off her new debut album are about her home on north shore O’ahu. Representing and sharing the history of her kupunas, the little town of La’ie of where she was born was important to her. Even as a ex-patriate and local transplant to Sonoma County some thirty years ago, Faith has stayed true to her love for Hawai’i, the values and stories of hawaiian music, hula and it’s cultural practices and traditions.

Faith has been signing and playing music all her life.  As a child growing up in Hawai’i she was influenced by family, church, culture and Rock Roll/Motown soul music.  A resident of the Bay Area since the early 90’s, Faith has been a member of several local Hawaiian bands and began her a solo career in 2007.  Awards include:  2008 Hawai’i Music Awards, 2010 Top Grammy Entries-Genre, 2015 Kuli’a I Ka Nu’u Strive for the Summit Award, 2015 San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee, Honorary Citizen Award for Island Culture Heritage, 2019 Board of Supervisors, San Mateo County, Commendation Award Pacific Islander Community Partnership.
