Born and raised on Oahu\u2019s north shore, La\u2019ie town was a refuge, a safe haven to raise 15 children of which I am the youngest. Having gifted talented older siblings play instruments and sing in our home daily was a treat. Whether at school or church weekly this is how I started my love for music. Piano lessons at an early age was required of me because of my sister above me, Hope(and I love her\u2665\ufe0fsooo). She took piano lessons and was such a natural at it. I was more happy being a tomboy outdoors climbing trees, running down Temple beach to Goat Island, hiking up to La’ie Falls picking mountain apples, guava and litchi, these were the best times. <\/p>\n\n\n

Learning ukulele songs and dances for May Day performances was a must, so being a left handed strummer was a challenge. You could say I found my niche! So thankful that I learned how to play a couple instruments at a young age. Our Kupuna’s, teachers and faithful church families were the leaders in our community. They taught us what culture was about. What it meant to be a Polynesian and how our kuleana was to preserve the traditions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fast forward….<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grateful every day and blessed to have married my high school babe, Chauncey Kinau Tsunegi Ako. Raising three of our grown adults that we are highly proud of has been our best accomplishments. Yet, however the exciting and fun part of our lives is about the four mo’opuna’s! #LOVEourGrandkids<\/span> #theyReallyAreTheBest<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
